The Exchange System now lives together with Macro Targets for a single review workflow.
1-Day Auto Plan
Dropdowns change meal combinations. Exchange totals come from Exchange System. Main meals absorb starch/protein/fat. Snacks use fruit/dairy.
Fruit and dairy servings are assigned with the snack checkboxes and draw from the Exchange System totals. Choose fresh fruit or dried fruit, and milk or yogurt. Crackers replace 1 starch serving only. Oat biscuits and cereal bars replace 1 starch + 1 fat serving. Nuts count as 1 fat exchange and replace 1 tsp olive oil from the main meals — daily calorie total stays unchanged.

Getting Started
What happens after my first login?
You'll land on your Dashboard. It stays empty until you add a client — that's expected, not a bug. Start from My Clients in the sidebar to create your first client profile.
How do I create my first client?
Go to My Clients → New client, then fill in the Client Profile tab (age, sex, height, weight, goal and any conditions). Nutrese calculates calorie and macro targets automatically once the profile is complete.
How do I set up a nutrition plan?
Generate Recommended Plan (on the Client Profile page) sets the client's calorie, macro and exchange targets only — it does not create meal content by itself. Use One Day Plan for full manual control, choosing and adjusting every meal yourself, or 7-Day Plan to have Nutrese automatically generate a complete week around the client's exchange targets. The generated week includes Breakfast, Snack 1, Lunch, Snack 2 and Dinner as available plan slots, with Before Sleep added when appropriate. Nutrese populates the snack slots according to the client's needs. The generator aims to reach the client's calorie target as closely as realistically possible, using realistic portions rather than forcing the numbers to match exactly. You can freely edit any meal or snack afterward — your edits are protected and won't be overwritten by future Nutrese updates.

How do I add or edit a client?
Add clients from My Clients → New client. You can edit any saved client's profile, body composition, notes and documents at any time from their profile tabs.
What client information does Nutrese keep track of?
Each client's profile brings together demographics, goals, conditions, body composition history, notes and lab values in one place, instead of being split across separate files and spreadsheets.
Nutrition Planning
How does the calorie calculation work?
Nutrese calculates a goal calorie target from the client's profile — using standard TDEE estimation plus their stated goal (maintenance, loss or gain). You can review and manually adjust this at any time on the Macro Targets page.
How do macro targets work?
Carbohydrate, protein and fat percentages are shown as an editable breakdown on the Macro Targets page, and always add up to the client's total goal calories.
What is the exchange system?
Nutrese uses food exchange lists (starch, protein, fat, fruit, vegetable, dairy) as the foundation for meal planning, so portions stay clinically realistic and easy to adjust — the same system dietitians already use, calculated and rendered for you automatically.
What are the Recipes for?
The Recipes library has starter recipes with full nutrition breakdowns, calculated from real ingredient data — not fixed numbers. You can also build and save your own recipes for reuse across clients.
Why does my plan show a Plan Quality warning?
Plan Quality highlights when a calorie or exchange target cannot be reached within Nutrese's realistic portion and exchange limits. This is not necessarily an error — it means the plan has reached a genuine constraint. Review the flagged day and adjust portions or meals manually if appropriate.
Are Snack 1, Snack 2 and Before Sleep required?
Snack 1 and Snack 2 are available generated snack slots on every 7-Day plan, and Nutrese populates them based on the client's needs. Before Sleep is added only when it's appropriate for the client. A slot can legitimately remain empty when it isn't needed — that's expected, not a bug.

How do I generate a client report?
From a client's plan, use the report options to generate a One Day or 7-Day client-facing report. Set your own logo once under Account so it appears automatically on every report.
How do I share or export a report?
Reports are designed to print or export directly from the browser — no separate document has to be rebuilt by hand for each client.
Account & Settings
Where do I manage my profile and report logo?
Your account details and report branding (logo) live under Account / Subscription in the sidebar.
How do I switch between light and dark mode?
Use the sun/moon icon in the top-right corner to switch at any time. Your choice is remembered for next time.
Who do I contact about billing or my subscription?
Manage your monthly or yearly subscription from Account / Subscription. For billing issues, use the billing portal link there; for anything else, use Report a problem below.
How do I switch the app between English and Greek?
Use the language button in the sidebar (EN/GR) to switch Nutrese between English and Greek. Meal plans and reports are translated accordingly.
